The Pickleball Association of Bermuda has confirmed a restructured, two-stage format for the 2026 National Championships, with action spanning across November and December.
The flagship domestic tournament will be staged at the W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium in Pembroke, running initially from November 16th to 21st before concluding with a second leg from December 2nd to 6th.
Organisers confirmed the split-week arrangement was introduced to accommodate a temporary reduction in available courts at the venue, ensuring all competitive and grassroots brackets receive adequate court time.
The opening week November 16th - 21st will be reserved exclusively for the high-performance categories.
Men’s 4.0 and 4.5+ events will feature alongside women’s 3.5 and 4.0+ draws, while the top-tier mixed doubles competition will also be decided across the 4.0 and 4.5+ bands.
The second phase December 2nd - 6th shifts focus to the broader adult categories and the youth ranks. Men’s and women’s 3.0 divisions, alongside 3.5 brackets and the Junior National Championships, will headline the December schedule.
Top-ranked junior prospects across all age groups will also be formally recognised as the governing body continues its push to develop emerging talent.
Beyond the silverware, the tournament serves as the island's premier year-end ranking event, with national ranking points heavily weighted across both legs.
Critically, participation is mandatory for any player targeting selection for Bermuda's international squads. Performances and points earned will feed directly into the evaluation framework for the 2027 Caribbean Championships team.
Athletes seeking an exemption from the mandatory requirement must submit an official written request to the association for review.
All competitors must be registered members of the Pickleball Association of Bermuda to participate in the sanctioned championship.
