Competing in a congested 21-team field, the Green Terror combined for a five-over-par total to sit firmly in the chasing pack heading into the sharp end of the event.
Muso signed for an opening two-over-par 74, navigating a rollercoaster afternoon that showcased both sharp scoring and testing scrambles.
The Bermudian traded blows with the course throughout the day, carding an impressive five birdies balanced by six pars and seven bogeys to keep his side well within striking distance of the leaders.
