Sanchez Smith and Sukanya Jobson produced commanding front-running performances as the Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA) National Cross-Country Series took to the trails of Fort Scaur for Meet #2.
The undulating terrain provided a stern examination across junior and senior divisions, with Smith headlining the youth categories courtesy of an emphatic victory in the Men’s 14–16 two-mile contest.
Smith clocked a swift 10:23.71 to take the tape with a 17-second cushion over Nicolas Gomez Caines, who crossed second in 10:40.67. Spencer Haldeman rounded out the podium positions, taking third in 11:19.49.
Jobson was equally dominant in the Women’s 14–16 equivalent, pulling clear of the field to claim a comprehensive victory in 13:41.59. Zahra Goodchild secured second spot with an 18:42.18 effort, while Jasmine Reid-Rubaine battled home for third in 22:25.84.
In the senior three-mile races:
Mae Tirfe went uncontested to top the Women’s 20–39 category, stopping the clock in a solid 20:57.22.
Benjamin Smith claimed men's honours in the same age bracket, clocking 21:06.19 to hold off a close challenge from Jack McHale, who took second in 21:36.16.
