Bermudian martial artist Kaelin Cox has secured top honours on the international stage, capturing first place on the opening day of competition in Argentina.
Cox produced a standout performance to claim gold in the traditional other southern barehand routine, delivering Bermuda’s first major triumph of the tournament.
The achievement came as the island's contingent launched their campaign across two concurrent continental events: the 5th Pan American Kung Fu Championships and the 15th Pan American Wushu Championships.
Displaying crisp precision and technical control, Cox outpointed a competitive regional field to take the top step of the podium.
The victory provides an immediate boost for Bermuda's delegation as they look to build on the early momentum throughout the remainder of the championships in South America.
Four Bermudians also participated in the San Da Judges Course.
