LB Football Academy has secured a significant boost to its youth development pathway after announcing HSBC Bermuda as its new lead academy sponsor.
The multi-faceted backing will directly support the delivery and expansion of the academy's player programmes, seasonal camps, clinics, and specialist training sessions across the island.
Founded by Leo Burgess, the academy originated as an individual player training setup before evolving into a structured programme designed to elevate technical proficiency, decision-making, and game intelligence in aspiring young footballers.
"We’re extremely grateful to HSBC Bermuda for believing in what we’re building at LB and for coming on board as our main Academy Sponsor," said Burgess, who serves as Founder and Head of LB Football Academy.
"This is a huge step for the Academy, and it’s something we’re really proud of. Our focus has always been on creating the best possible environment for players to develop, enjoy football and reach their potential.
"HSBC’s support will help us continue to improve our programmes, reach more players and create more opportunities for them through LB. For us, it’s about investing in the next generation of Bermudian footballers and continuing to build something special."
The partnership underscores a commitment to grassroots sport on the island, aiming to widen access to elite coaching standards and structured developmental pathways for girls and boys.
Tanya Bule, Head of International Wealth and Premier Banking at HSBC Bermuda, highlighted the broader social impact of the initiative.
"Youth football is a vibrant part of Bermuda’s culture, bringing young people together and instilling lifelong values like discipline, teamwork, and resilience," Bule said.
"We are immensely excited to sponsor LB Football Academy and support these young athletes as they build confidence, stay active, and chase their goals on and off the field."
