Young Bermudian footballers are set for a taste of top-tier academy development later this month as Warwick Football Academy (WFA) joins forces with California-based SoCal Reds FC for a week-long coaching clinic.
Running from October 19th to 23rd 2026 at Warwick Academy, the intensive five-day programme blends the youth development philosophies of both outfits, offering open-enrolment sessions for both boys and girls across grassroots and elite tiers.
The headline feature of the clinic is guest coach Paul Bright, SoCal Reds FC's Executive Vice President of Growth and Development and Academy Director of Coaching.
Bright boasts more than two decades of elite pedigree across the international and professional academy circuit. A former Manchester United academy coach and ex-Jamaica Under-17 men's national team coach, Bright has also directed Major League Soccer (MLS) NEXT setups with ALBION SC Las Vegas and served as Director of Coaching for LA Galaxy Orange County.
A dual UEFA A and USSF A licence holder—further backed by a USSF Technical Leaders II qualification, a degree in Football Science, and a Master’s in Education—Bright's presence provides local prospects with direct exposure to elite North American and European player-pathway methods.
The initiative is split into two daily tracks: a morning Development Camp targeted at under-7 through under-11 players focusing on core mechanics, followed by an afternoon Elite Camp tailored for under-11-plus to under-15 talents concentrating on tactical awareness and match tempo.
