Bermudian sailor Christian Ebbin played an instrumental role as Tulane University secured a commendable sixth-place finish in a 19-strong fleet at the prestigious Danmark Trophy in Connecticut.
Competing across two demanding days on the Thames River, the Green Wave compiled a combined total score of 188 points over 11 rotations, registering one race victory and nine top-five finishes across the regatta's two divisions.
Tulane showed remarkable balance across the board, finishing seventh in both the A and B Divisions.
In the B Division, skipper Ebbin joined forces with crew Sabrina Anderson to deliver a composed, consistent series. Navigating shifty river breezes, the pair collected five top-five finishes to wrap up the regatta with a team-leading low score of 91 points.
The Green Wave’s A Division boat matched their counterparts' overall standing, finishing on 97 points. Skipper Tate Christopher teamed with crew Charlotte Casey to record a race victory alongside four top-three finishes, before skipper Gil Hackel stepped in alongside crew Jonah Wozniak to close out the final rotation.
The solid collective showing caps another competitive collegiate weekend for Ebbin and Tulane against top-tier cross-regional opposition.
