Bermudian midfielder Sachiel Ming helped Syracuse University continue their fine run of form with a dominant 2-0 victory over local rivals Le Moyne at SU Soccer Stadium.
The result lifts the Orange to a 6-3-0 record on the campaign, built on relentless attacking momentum and a resolute defensive performance at the back.
After a testing, scoreless opening 45 minutes, Syracuse made their superiority count almost immediately after the restart. Just two minutes into the second half, Gabriel Oksanen pounced to rifle home an unassisted strike — his second goal of the season — to break the deadlock.
The hosts tightened their grip on the contest just past the hour mark. In the 63rd minute, Landon Darko picked out Bryson Rodriguez, who finished clinically to register his third goal of the year and draw level with Pedro Gulli at the summit of the team's scoring charts.
Ming and the Syracuse engine room dictated the tempo throughout, with the Orange firing an overwhelming 29 attempts on goal to Le Moyne's eight, including 12 hitting the target.
At the other end, goalkeeper Juan Martinez-Bastidas ensured there was no way back for the Dolphins, producing six saves over the 90 minutes to secure a well-earned clean sheet.
