New Hampshire Sweep Past Harvard to Extend Unbeaten Run

IslandStats.com
Second-half strikes from Miguel Soto Gonzalez and Bermudian sophomore Xahvi DeRoza sealed a clinical 2-0 victory for the University of New Hampshire over Harvard at Wildcat Stadium.

The non-conference triumph marks three consecutive wins for the Wildcats, who stretch their fine run of form to 5-0-1 across their past six outings.

Following a tight, defensive opening 45 minutes, the hosts found their breakthrough shortly after the restart. Spanish graduate student Soto Gonzalez broke the deadlock in the 54th minute, firing home to give New Hampshire a deserved advantage.

Harvard pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but the Wildcats’ backline stood firm. Sophomore goalkeeper Aaron Choi marshalled his defence with authority, making two key saves to secure his second clean sheet of the campaign.

DeRoza, who rattled the woodwork late on, put the result beyond doubt three minutes from time. Latching onto a delivery set up by freshman Rayyan Firdawcy—who registered his first collegiate point with the assist—the Bermuda youth international slotted home in the 87th minute to wrap up the points.

The victory continues an impressive early-season surge for New Hampshire, who carry significant attacking momentum into their upcoming fixtures.

The Wildcats advance to a 5-1-1 overall, while the Crimson fall to 1-3-1
