Bermuda’s contingent showed grit and endurance against the world’s elite, successfully conquering the demanding Ironman 70.3 World Championship course.
Leading the Bermudian contingent home was Will Green, who produced a superb display of balanced pacing in the Men’s 30–34 category to stop the clock well inside the six-hour barrier.
Green laid the groundwork with a brisk 33-minute, 38-second swim, followed by a disciplined 3:25:14 on the bike. He then found another gear on the final discipline, clocking a blistering 1:44:34 half-marathon split to cross the finish line in an impressive total time of 5:53:20, placing 288th in his division and 2,064th overall.
In the women’s field, Becky Ronaldson delivered a strong, sub-seven-hour performance in the competitive F40–44 division.
Exiting the water in 43:03, Ronaldson attacked the bike course in 3:57:35 before closing out her race with a solid 2:05:26 run. Her cumulative time of 6:57:21 saw her secure 308th in her age group and 2,027th overall.
In the F50–54 division, Nicola Hallett demonstrated immense determination across a testing course. Hallett navigated the swim discipline before mounting the bike to record a 4:03:28 split. Maintaining her rhythm through the final leg with a 2:17:24 run, she reached the finish line in 7:25:23 to claim 233rd in her category and 2,381st overall.
Meanwhile, Pauline Green produced an inspired showing in the F65–69 division to finish inside the top 25 of her age group.
Setting a solid tone with a 50:09 swim, Green completed the gruelling bike leg in 4:13:28. She held her form right to the line with a 2:24:47 run split, stopping the clock at 7:48:12 to finish 25th in her division and 2,538th overall on a memorable day of world championship racing.
