Neriah Bean and his Oakwood University Men's Soccer team endured a bruising afternoon as they were comprehensively beaten 8-0 by Tuskegee University.
It was one-way traffic from the outset, with a relentless Tuskegee attack carving open the Oakwood defence with ease to establish total command of the contest.
By the time Bermuda's Bean was introduced from the bench, the outcome was already long settled. The substitute goalkeeper entered the fray with 27 minutes left on the clock and his side trailing by six goals, stepping directly into the path of an ongoing onslaught.
Despite the punishing circumstances, Bean stood firm under heavy pressure to register two sharp saves. He was unable to completely halt Tuskegee's forward momentum, however, conceding twice in the closing stages as the hosts capped off an emphatic, eight-goal rout.
Oakwood will now have to regroup quickly after a day where Tuskegee proved far superior in every department.
