Bermudian trio Sami Carolo, Kydan Browne, and Isai Gibbons helped Saint Mary’s University secure a hard-fought 1-1 draw on the road against cross-town rivals Dalhousie Tigers.
In a tightly contested Atlantic University Sport (AUS) derby, the Huskies seized the advantage late in the first half when pressure in the Dalhousie penalty area forced an own goal in the 40th minute.
Saint Mary’s looked on course to claim all three points as Carolo, Browne, and Gibbons played their part in keeping the hosts at bay through the majority of the second period.
However, Dalhousie mounted a spirited late response, finally breaching the Huskies' backline to bundle home an equaliser in the 78th minute.
Both sides pushed for a decisive winner during a tense final 12 minutes, but Saint Mary's stood firm to share the spoils and take a valuable point away from Wickwire Field.
