Bermuda youth outfit X-Roads Warriors have made a competitive start to their Virginia Cup campaign on the United States East Coast, navigating disrupted schedules to complete their opening round of fixtures.
Inclement weather across the host venues forced organisers to reshuffle match times, but both travelling squads successfully took to the pitch for two games apiece in their respective brackets.
In the Male Under-11 Boys Elite Division Bracket A, X-Roads produced a resilient performance in their opening encounter, battling to a 1-1 draw against St. Mary's Soccer Boys Red. The Bermudian youngsters found the going tougher in their subsequent outing, slipping to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Virginia Velocity FC U11 Vortex.
Meanwhile, the club's older contingent endured an equally testing start in the Male Under-17 Boys Premier Division Bracket A. X-Roads opened their account in impressive fashion by securing victory over Golden Ball Soccer Academy N1 Boys, before narrowly falling to a 1-0 defeat against Richmond United Red in a tightly contested affair.
Both sides remain firmly in the mix as tournament play continues following the weather-adjusted schedule.
