Bermuda’s Yushae DeSilva-Andrade suffered elimination from the Seoul 2026 World Boccia Championships after enduring back-to-back defeats in BC1 Female Pool B.
The Paralympian faced stiff competition in South Korea, opening her pool campaign with a 7-1 defeat against Spain's Desiree Segarra.
DeSilva-Andrade was unable to bounce back in her second match, falling to an 8-1 loss at the hands of Japan’s Hiromi Endo to bring a premature end to her medal hopes.
Despite the results, DeSilva-Andrade remained upbeat about the strides made on the court during the tournament.
"Even though this World Championships did not go as I had hoped, I am extremely happy with the amount of improvement and consistency I was able to maintain in these games," she said.
The Bermudian star will now turn her attention to recovery before building towards her final competitive outing of the year.
"Now’s the time for some much-needed rest and then start preparing for my final competition of the season in São Paulo, Brazil in November."
