Bermuda’s Yushae DeSilva-Andrade suffered her first defeat at the Seoul 2026 World Boccia Championships after falling 7-4 to China's Yuan Yichu in a tightly contested pool encounter.
Competing in the BC1 women’s division at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Arena, DeSilva-Andrade pushed the Chinese contender throughout a competitive four-end battle before Yuan pulled clear in the closing stages.
The result follows a dominant start to the tournament for the Paralympian, who opened her preliminary campaign with an impressive 9-4 win over the Czech Republic's Simona Blažková.
DeSilva-Andrade remains firmly in contention as the group phase progresses in South Korea, with qualification berths for the knockout stages on the line.
