IslandStats.com
Bermudian sailors Sebastian Kempe and Campbell Patton were split across divisions as the elimination series got underway on Thursday at the 2026 ILCA 7 Men’s World Championship in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland.

Navigating steady light rain across Dublin Bay, race organisers successfully completed both scheduled races for the opening day of finals racing at the Royal St George Yacht Club.

Competing in the Silver Fleet, former Youth World Champion Sebastian Kempe produced an impressive opening race of the finals, crossing the line in seventh place.

He followed up with a 19th-place finish in the day’s second race, moving up the leaderboard into 63rd overall with a net total of 116 points.

In the Bronze Fleet, Campbell Patton put together two solid single-digit and mid-fleet outings on the water.

Patton secured 14th in the opening race of the series before crossing the line 17th in the afternoon contest. The pair of results leaves him in 106th place overall on 157 net points.

Racing is set to continue on Friday with two more finals races scheduled as the 141-boat fleet approaches the weekend's medal rounds
