Bermuda’s Arnold Manders and his IMC Emerging XI team-mates suffered an eight-wicket defeat against a clinical Australia side in their latest group fixture at the IMC Over-60s World Cup 2026.
Batting first after winning the toss, the Emerging XI struggled to build partnerships against a disciplined Australian bowling unit and were dismissed for just 100 in 41.3 overs.
Rajan Sharma provided the main resistance with a patient 31, but the batting line-up faltered around him. Bermudian veteran Manders fell without scoring during a testing spell from the Australian seamers.
Lachlan Donovan spearheaded the attack for Australia, finishing as the standout bowler with excellent figures of 3-15 from his nine overs, including two maidens.
In response, Australia made light work of the modest target, reaching 101-2 to wrap up a comprehensive victory with plenty of overs to spare.
John Mensforth anchored the chase with an authoritative half-century, striking a match-winning 53.
David Dabare claimed the sole breakthrough for the Emerging XI attack, finishing with figures of 1-18 from four overs as Australia comfortably sealed the points.
