Bermuda’s Under-14 boys fought back from an uncertain start to earn a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Barbados in their opening match of the CFU U14 Challenge Series.
After weathering early pressure in the opening exchanges, the young Gombey Warriors grew into the contest and finished the first half with authority.
Bermuda found their breakthrough in the 31st minute when Cairo Burgess struck to pull his side level just before the interval.
The equaliser capped a strong turnaround before the break, setting up a competitive second period where both Caribbean outfits pushed for a winner but ultimately shared the spoils.
The result gets Bermuda off the mark with a valuable point as they begin their regional tournament campaign.
