Youngster Headed to Training Camp in London
A talented group of Bermuda’s most promising young runners have travelled to London to take part in an intensive five-day residential middle and long-distance camp.

Organised through the Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA), the seven-strong contingent of Sanchez Smith, Ronan Davidge, Spencer Haldeman, Gianluca Bortoli, Elena Bortoli, Riana Robinson, and Sukanya Jobson have made the journey to the United Kingdom for the development programme.

Designed to provide holistic support for emerging distance runners, the residential curriculum extends well beyond endurance mileage on the track.

Over the course of the five days, the athletes will take part in comprehensive educational workshops and practical sessions covering:

Strength & Conditioning: Targeted physical preparation and injury prevention.
Mental Health & Wellbeing: Developing psychological resilience and balance.
Nutrition & Fueling: Optimising diet for high-performance training.
Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S): Education around athlete health and energy availability.
Athlete Development & Periodisation: Structuring training for long-term progression.
Goal Setting & Performance: Establishing structured targets and race strategies.

The camp offers the young Bermudians valuable international exposure, enabling them to test themselves in a high-performance environment, refine their technical foundation, and acquire critical knowledge to support the next phase of their athletic development.
