Ontario Cricket Association Under-19s (OCA) got week two of the Canadian International Festival off to a flying start, cruising to a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Trinidad and Tobago Secondary School Cricket League Under-19s (TT SSCL).
All-rounder Isaiah O'Brien produced an all-action performance to lead the way, starring with both ball and bat in a thoroughly dominant team display.
After being inserted, TT SSCL struggled to build sustained momentum against a disciplined OCA attack. O'Brien set the tone early in the field, keeping tight lines to restrict the scoring while picking up a key breakthrough to finish with figures of 1-17 from his three overs. TT SSCL eventually ground their way to 142-9 from their allotted overs.
In reply, OCA made light work of the target, chasing down 143-2 with overs to spare.
O'Brien provided the late firecrackers to seal the result, blasting an unbeaten 12 off just 12 deliveries—a whirlwind knock featuring four towering sixes—to put the finishing touches on a resounding win and keep Ontario's fine form rolling into the second week of the tournament.
