The Bermuda Powerboat Association (BPBA) has officially confirmed the standings for a historic 2026 Round the Island (RTI) race, following a thrilling day on the water that saw three separate division course records fall.
Ricky Sousa and Nick Cabral took top honors overall, piloting B20 to victory in a blistering new B-Class record time of 37 minutes and 54 seconds.
Record-Breaking Action Across Three Divisions
Sousa and Cabral led a dominant showing in the B-Class, crossing the line first overall to set the pace for the fleet. Jody and Tony Carreiro took second in class and third overall in B77 (40:37), while Quince Dowling and Tai Bean rounded out the top three in B441.
The A-Class produced equally dramatic action, with Chris Marshall and Santiago Roe steering A3 to a thrilling second-place overall finish while shattering the class record in a time of 46:04. Brandon DeSilva and Blake Burgess pushed them all the way, finishing fourth overall and second in class aboard A111 in 46:46, followed by Shane Madeiros and Erin Butterfield in A26.
There was further history made in the C-Class, where Chad Sutherland and Lee Wilson etched their names into the record books. Aboard C87, the pair captured the class title and seventh overall in a record-setting time of 39:22, ahead of second-placed Philip Pavia and Cameron White in C588.
DaCosta and Holder Claim D-Class Honors
In the D-Class, Bobby DaCosta and Joshua Holder delivered a polished performance aboard D13 to seal victory in 42:20, finishing 12th overall. Howard Ascento and Nasajee Anderson took second in D4, with Matthew Smith and Brendon Renaud completing the podum in D94.
It was a day of high attrition further down the field, with several boats failing to complete the gruelling course around the island. Damon Morris and Jordie Smith suffered a frustrating DNF aboard B48, while B23 and B37 were unable to make the starting line.
