Bermudian all-rounder Isaiah O’Brien and his Ontario Cricket Academy (OCA) teammates maintained their flawless start to the Canadian International Cricket Festival U19 League, securing back-to-back victories over Trinidad and Tobago Secondary Schools' Cricket League (TT SSCL) and Oakville U19.
In their first fixture of the day, OCA ground out a tight nine-run victory against TT SSCL.
Batting first, OCA posted 150-3 in their allotted 20 overs, anchored by an unbeaten 65 off 55 balls from opener Savar Kapoor. O’Brien chipped in with eight runs, while Daron Dhanraj was the pick of the TT SSCL attack, taking 2-23.
In reply, TT SSCL were restricted to 141-4 despite an unbeaten half-century from Zakariyya Mohammed (50*). O’Brien proved the standout bowler for OCA, delivering a miserly spell of 2-20 from his four overs to defend the total.
OCA then made it three wins from three at the tournament with a comfortable seven-wicket triumph over Oakville U19.
Oakville set a target of 139-6 from their 20 overs, with Marcel Nandu top-scoring with 30 not out. Elijah Lewis spearheaded the OCA bowling attack with 3-49, while O’Brien delivered a disciplined three-over spell of 0-16 alongside holding onto three catches in the field.
OCA made light work of the chase, comfortably reaching 142-3 in 20.4 overs. Kapoor led the response once again with an unbeaten 63, while O’Brien provided fireworks late on, smashing a quickfire 18 off 12 balls—including two sixes and a four—to cap off an unbeaten day for the tournament leaders.
