Bermuda’s men’s team made a strong start at the prestigious Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship (CAGC) in Nassau, opening in a three-way tie for the lead at 1-under par.
Competing at The Royal Blue Golf Course, Bermuda sit alongside the Cayman Islands and Trinidad and Tobago at the top of the men's team division following Tuesday’s opening round.
Meanwhile, Bermuda’s women's team ended the opening day in fifth place in the country standings at 24-over par.
In the men’s gross individual standings, Eric West paced the Bermudian squad with a 3-under par round of 69, positioning him in fourth place overall. West carded five birdies, 10 pars, and three bogeys across his opening 18 holes.
Oliver Betschart sits two shots further back in sixth place after shooting a 1-under par 71, while Dylan Muso registered an even-par 72 to share 10th position.
Will Haddrell lies 22nd after carding a 3-over 75, with Mikus Ming placing 31st following an opening 78 (+6).
Sienna Mosquera led the way for Bermuda in the Ladies Best Gross Division, ending the day in 11th place after shooting an 11-over par 83.
Darina Betschart holds 12th position following an 85 (+13), Tracy Burgess sits 16th after an 87 (+15), and Morgan Lightbourne occupies 24th after opening with a 93 (+21).
