Heartbreak for Robinson as Injury Ends Commonwealth Games

IslandStats.com
Bermuda sprinter Norre Robinson saw his Commonwealth Games campaign come to a painful end after suffering a hamstring injury during the men's 200 metres heats in Glasgow.

Competing in Heat Eight, Robinson's race was cut short when he pulled up clutching his hamstring, unable to continue as the field powered towards the finish line.

The Bermudian was visibly in discomfort as he left the track, bringing a heartbreaking end to what had promised to be an important appearance on the Commonwealth stage.

Robinson had arrived in Glasgow aiming to test himself against some of the fastest sprinters in the Commonwealth, but his campaign was instead overshadowed by injury.

The extent of the hamstring problem has yet to be confirmed, although the immediate concern will be the severity of the setback and the recovery time required.

For Robinson, it was a cruel conclusion to his Games, with injury denying him the opportunity to complete his race and showcase his sprinting ability on one of athletics' biggest stages.
