Nahki Wells was among the goals as Luton Town continued their encouraging pre-season preparations with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Sky Bet League Two side Walsall in a behind-closed-doors friendly at The Brache.
With Luton already holding a comfortable 4-0 lead, Wells was introduced just after the hour mark and wasted little time making his impact. The Bermuda striker capped off the move of the match with a composed finish to complete the scoring and underline his sharpness ahead of the new campaign.
There was also exciting news for Bermudian football, with highly rated winger Blayz Borgesson completing a move to Burnley following a successful trial earlier this year.
The talented youngster impressed after joining from Radcliffe FC's academy setup, where his performances attracted the attention of professional scouts. Borgesson becomes the third Bermudian to represent Burnley, following in the footsteps of Nahki Wells and Ne-Jai Tucker.
Elsewhere, Willie Clemons helped Leiston FC to a 3-1 pre-season victory away to Gorleston, while Keziah Martin featured as Hereford FC drew 1-1 with Shrewsbury.
Milan Butterfield also celebrated silverware of sorts as Halesowen Town retained the Brookes-Clark Charity Shield after an entertaining 3-3 draw. As the holders, Halesowen kept the trophy despite being unable to find a winner.
Not every Bermudian enjoyed success, however. Kane Crichlow was an unused substitute as Dagenham & Redbridge suffered their first defeat of pre-season, going down 2-1 to Boreham Wood.
With league campaigns fast approaching, Bermuda's footballers continue to build momentum across England, with goals, trophies and landmark signings providing plenty of encouragement ahead of the new season.
