The Bermuda Football Association(BFA) wishes to express its deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the families, teammates, and friends on the recent passing of BFA Legend Granville “Sam”, “The Cat” Nusum.
In Bermuda, Sam started his football career as a goalkeeper at North Village and finished with Hotels International. In between his domestic career in Bermuda, he excelled in the professional ranks, playing for Montreal Olympique, the Vancouver Whitecaps, and the New York Cosmos.
His career included representing Bermuda in World Cup, Olympic, and Pan American Games qualifiers.
In 2008, he was named a BFA Legend, and Anwar Telford was awarded a scholarship in his honor. As a symbol of our deepest respect and in honor of his indelible contributions to Bermudian football, the Bermuda Football Association will be changing its official logo to black across all social media platforms until he is laid to rest.
