IslandStats.com
Bermuda's athletes delivered a series of determined performances across athletics and swimming as four competitors represented the island at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with Jack Harvey and Caitlyn Bobb producing the day's standout results.

On a rain soaked track, Caitlyn Bobb safely negotiated the opening round of the women's 400m, finishing sixth in Heat Two in a time of 54.94 seconds to secure her place in the next stage of the competition.

Nirobi Smith-Mills was unable to join her in the next round, finishing seventh in Heat Two of the men's 800m in 1:59.71, missing out on qualification.

In the field events, Sakari Famous placed ninth in the women's high jump final after clearing a best height of 1.77 metres against a strong international field.

In the pool, Jack Harvey came within touching distance of a place in the men's 100m backstroke final. The Bermudian finished third in Heat Two in 54.75 seconds to advance to the semi-finals.

Harvey returned later in the evening and swam 55.04 seconds in the second semi-final, finishing fifth and narrowly missing out on a place in the championship final.

While a finals berth proved just out of reach, Bermuda's athletes continued to produce encouraging performances as they tested themselves against some of the Commonwealth's best competitors in Glasgow.
