Bermudian pair Najiyah Raynor and Oyinde Bascome were on the losing side as Coventry & North Warwickshire CC II fell to a 59-run defeat against Nether Whitacre CC in the Warwickshire County Cricket League.
After winning the toss, Nether Whitacre elected to bat and posted a competitive 237 for nine from their 50 overs. Ryan Braimbridge anchored the innings with a top score of 61, while Rohail Momand was the standout bowler for Coventry, claiming impressive figures of 3-46 from his nine overs.
Behind the stumps, wicketkeeper Raynor made a valuable contribution, completing a sharp stumping and holding onto a catch to help restrict the visitors.
Set a target of 238 for victory, Coventry & North Warwickshire struggled to build the partnerships needed to mount a successful chase and were eventually dismissed for 178.
Keenan Khatavkar led the batting effort with 55, while Bascome added a useful 21 runs. Raynor chipped in with eight before Coventry's innings came to an end.
Steve Rawlings proved the decisive figure with the ball for Nether Whitacre, finishing with impressive figures of 3-19 from 6.3 overs as his side secured a comfortable victory.
Despite contributions from both Bermudians, Coventry & North Warwickshire were unable to overturn the sizeable target and were left to reflect on a disappointing afternoon in league action.
