Longtails Rowing Club celebrated a memorable weekend at the Halifax Summer Regatta in Daytona Beach, Florida, as Bermuda's junior rowers claimed two Gold Medals against strong competition.
Six young athletes represented the club, with Nasser Fahy and Salem Jackson-Smith leading the charge by securing victories in two events.
The pair opened their campaign in style by winning the Men's Junior Novice Double, producing an impressive performance to cross the line first in 3:53.418.
Fahy and Jackson-Smith then teamed up with Zoe Oduntan and Diya Steede to complete a golden double in the Mixed Junior Novice Quad. The quartet delivered another commanding race, stopping the clock at 4:18.629 to add a second gold medal to Longtails' tally.
The victories capped an outstanding regatta for the Bermuda-based programme, with the junior rowers displaying both speed and composure across the weekend's racing.
Longtails' squad also featured Alasdair Penz and Yusuf Abdul-Rashid, adding further depth to the team's representation in Florida.
Oduntan and Abdul-Rashid also tested themselves in the singles competition, with both rowers narrowly missing out on the podium after recording fourth-place finishes.
The double gold performance underlined the continued progress of Longtails Rowing Club's junior programme, with Bermuda's emerging talent continuing to make its mark on the international stage.
