Emma Harvey booked her place in the Women's 100 metres Butterfly semi-finals as Bermuda's swimmers continued their Commonwealth Games campaign with another busy day in the pool.
Harvey progressed from the heats before narrowly missing out on a place in the final, while Elan Daley produced a strong performance in the freestyle but suffered disappointment in the butterfly.
Daley was first into action in the Women's 100m Freestyle Heats, winning Heat Two in 56.66 seconds. The performance left her 20th overall, although it was not enough to secure a place in the semi-finals.
The pair then turned their attention to the Women's 100m Butterfly.
Daley's challenge came to an abrupt end after she was disqualified in the opening heat, bringing a frustrating conclusion to her butterfly campaign.
Harvey, however, produced a composed swim in Heat Three, touching the wall in 1:00.65 to finish fourth and comfortably advance to the semi-finals as the 11th-fastest qualifier.
Returning later in the evening, Harvey lined up in the second semi-final against a world-class field. The Bermudian finished seventh in her race in 1:00.90, placing 13th overall and narrowly missing out on a place in the championship final.
Although Harvey was unable to progress beyond the semi-finals, another appearance in the last 16 at a major international championship continued her consistent run of performances on the Commonwealth stage, while Daley showed her speed in the freestyle despite enduring mixed fortunes across the day's events.
