Miguel Power continued his encouraging start to the ILCA UK Open & National Championships by climbing three places to 13th overall after the latest day of racing at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy.
Three races were completed on the day, with the Bermudian producing one of his strongest performances of the regatta to move up the standings.
Power opened with an eighth-place finish before placing 19th in the second race of the day. He responded impressively in the final race, crossing the line in third to secure his first podium finish of the championship.
Under the regatta's discard system, Power was able to drop his 19th-place result, leaving him with 27 net points at the end of the day.
The strong finish capped another positive day's racing for the young sailor, who continues to build momentum as the championship progresses at one of Britain's premier sailing venues.
