Bermuda’s Entrance as 2026 Commonwealth Games Underway

The King and Queen made a dramatic entrance to kick off the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, stepping out of a Tardis as the 11-day sporting spectacle officially opened.
Their Majesties took center stage at a packed OVO Hydro arena in Glasgow, setting a theatrical and energetic tone for the multi-sport event.
More than 3,000 athletes from 74 nations and territories have converged on Glasgow to compete across 10 sports and six integrated Para sports.
As the delegations marched into the arena, Bermuda’s squad was led out in proud fashion:
Tiara Derosa carried the Bermuda flag into the Hydro.
Caitlyn Bobb carried the King's Baton following its epic global journey.
The procession was anchored by Chef-de-Mission Donna Raynor and Assistant Chef-de-Mission Jarita Vickers.
The ceremony blended iconic Scottish culture, sci-fi flair, and Commonwealth tradition, officially launching almost two weeks of elite international competition.
With the flame now lit and the opening festivities concluded, attention shifts directly to the action on the track, in the pool, and across Glasgow's world-class venues.
