Bermudian sailor Miguel Power made a promising start to his ILCA UK Open & National Championships campaign, placing 16th overall after the opening day of racing at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy.
Competing in a formidable 111-boat ILCA 6 fleet, Power demonstrated strong early pace across Day One’s two scheduled races in Dorset.
He opened his regatta in fine fashion, mounting a sharp performance in Race One to cross the line in 7th position. Power backed up his opening effort with another solid drive in Race Two, taking 9th place to cap off a consistent first outing on the water.
The strong dual top-10 stage finishes leave Power firmly in the mix in 16th spot overall as the fleet heads into the remaining days of competition at the iconic 2012 Olympic venue.
