Sebastian Kempe produced a standout performance at the San Pedro Olympic Class Racing regatta, finishing 14th overall in the ILCA 7 fleet to secure Bermuda's first country qualification spot for the 2027 Pan American Games.
Competing against a competitive 63-boat field across a demanding 12-race series, Kempe mounted a highly consistent campaign to end on 99 net points. His peak moment on the water came during Race 6, where he crossed the line in 8th place to solidify his standing near the top tier of the fleet.
Joining Kempe in the ILCA 7 division was Campbell Patton, who closed out his regatta in 36th position with 211 net points. Patton showed flashes of strong speed throughout the week, highlighted by an impressive 18th-place finish in Race 4.
Meanwhile, Olympian Adriana Penruddocke battled in the ILCA 6 fleet, concluding her regatta in 39th position with 209 net points. Penruddocke hit her stride early in the competition, registering back-to-back 7th-place finishes in Races 2 and 3 to prove her credentials at the top end of the fleet.
