The Summer Junior League put on by Beyond The Fairways Foundation at Five Forts Golf Club continues to showcase the exciting future of junior golf in Bermuda, with three of nine scheduled rounds now completed.
Designed to provide meaningful competitive opportunities for young golfers, the Summer Junior League emphasizes player development, sportsmanship, and confidence while introducing juniors to tournament golf in a positive and supportive environment.
The third round featured several exceptional performances. In the Red Tee Stableford Division, Bradford Laing posted an outstanding 22 Stableford points to claim the round victory. Jacob Garott finished runner-up with 13 points, followed by Zy'nico Wales with 10 points.
The White Tee Medal Division was won by Theodore T., whose excellent even-par 72 led the field.
Austin finished second with a 74, while Quei Burt and Michael Hinwood shared third after both recorded 75. Competition has been strong through the opening three rounds.
In the Red Tee Stableford Division, Riley Sousa leads the standings with 12 league points, while Fred Jones leads the White Tee Medal Division with 13 points after three consistent performances.
The defining moment of the season so far came during Round 2 on Tuesday, July14, when Connor Sousa recorded a spectacular hole-in-one on the 17th hole at Five Forts Golf Course.
A hole-in-one is among golf's rarest achievements and is an extraordinary accomplishment for a junior golfer. Sousa's ace was celebrated by fellow competitors, parents, and coaches and stands as one of the highlights of the 2026 Summer Junior League.
"Sousa's hole-in-one was an incredible moment, not just for him, but for everyone who witnessed it," said Quinton Sherlock Jr., Director of Instruction at Golfzon Leadbetter Academy Bermuda. "What has impressed us even more, however, is the steady improvement we're seeing across the entire field. Every week these young golfers are becoming more confident, more resilient, and more passionate about the game. That's exactly what this league is designed to achieve."
With six rounds remaining, the race for both divisional titles is far from over, and organizers expect exciting competition throughout the remainder of the summer.
The Summer Junior League continues every Tuesday at Five Forts Golf Course and serves as an important pathway into the Academy's year-round junior development programs.
Beyond The Fairways Foundation congratulates Connor Sousa on his outstanding achievement and thanks every junior golfer and family for helping make this year's Summer League a tremendous success.
