The Bermuda Powerboat Association held a poignant day of racing at Ferry Reach, with the island's powerboating community coming together to honor the memory of driver Rickai Raynor.
A silent tribute was observed during the morning drivers meeting for Raynor, who tragically passed away from head injuries sustained in an accident during the previous fixture in Hamilton Harbor.
When racing got underway, the junior competitors put on a spirited display across six heats. Jacob Garrett proved dominant in his class by sweeping to victory in races one, three, and five, with Riahz Stovell finishing runner-up and Leilani Grant securing third in all three events.
In the alternate junior heats, Amouri Hollis claimed top spot in races two and four ahead of Xoryn Woods, before Woods reversed the order in race six to take the final victory ahead of Hollis.
The senior fleet faced challenging conditions on the water, leading organizers to cancel the afternoon session due to rising winds and ran a single twenty-five minute endurance race instead.
In the A Class, Brandon DeSilva and Blake Burgess took the honors with a clean drive, leaving Jacari Marshall and Marcus Pimental to take second place, while Chris Marshall and Santiago Roe completed the podium in third.
David Willoughby and Geoffrey Willoughby secured victory in the B Class, capitalizing after rivals Jody Carreiro and Tony Carreiro failed to finish.
The C Class proved particularly attrition-heavy, with both the team of Chad Sutherland and Lee Wilson and the duo of Philip Paiva and Cameron White recorded as non-finishers.
In the D Class, Bobby Decosta and Josh Holder navigated the choppy waters successfully to take top spot.
