Aston Manor CC produced a clinical run-chase to defeat Coventry & North Warwickshire CC by five wickets in a highly competitive Warwickshire County Cricket League Premier Division clash at Church Road.
After winning the toss, the hosts chose to field and successfully restricted Coventry & North Warwickshire, bowling them out for 215 in 46.2 overs.
Opening batsman and Bermudian international Okera Bascome provided a brisk platform at the top of the order, striking 31 off just 25 balls—a knock that featured three boundaries and a six. Sunair Siddique Khan anchored the innings with a half-century, fighting his way to a top score of 54.
However, Aston Manor's bowling unit consistently chipped away at the batting lineup. Kuldeep Diwan was the pick of the attack, turning in a supreme, disciplined spell of 12-0-38-3 to put the brakes on Coventry's momentum.
In response, Aston Manor paced their chase excellently to reach 217-5 with nearly nine overs to spare. Zia Ul Haq Parwani led the charge with a superb, unbeaten 59 to guide his side over the line.
