Bishopston CC secured a dominant 77-run victory over Chare Smith’s Frenchay CC in their West of England Premier Cricket League clash at The Bob Stone Ground.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Bishopston were bowled out for 177. Arnold Otwani anchored the innings with a vital 56, despite a clinical spell from Frenchay’s Madushan Ravichandrakumar, who ripped through the lineup to claim superb figures of 4-23. Bermudian international Smith went wicketless, conceding 29 runs from his three overs.
In reply, Frenchay’s run chase never found its rhythm as they were skittled for just 100. Tom Bibby offered the lone resistance with a top score of 43, but they had no answer for Bishopston's David O'Brien. The bowler delivered a match-winning performance, tearing through the batting order to finish with magnificent figures of 5-24 and seal a comprehensive win.
