The 2026 Lindo’s-to-Lindo’s has raised $27,730.62 for the Bermuda Diabetes Association with its annual event, held on March 8th this year.

The event marks the biggest fundraising event of the year for the Bermuda DiabetesAssociation and this year’s funds will go towards supporting the charity’s educational programmes and free health screenings, as well as its overall mission. As usual, the event featured a 10k competitive run, a 4-mile competitive walk and a 4-mile fun run/walk, drawing 1,129 participants.

The course began at Lindo’s FamilyFoods in Warwick and finished at Lindo’s Market in Devonshire. Since its inception in 1999, Lindo’s-to-Lindo’s has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support diabetes prevention and care on the island. With diabetes affecting approximately one in eight adults in Bermuda, and the same number estimated to be at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, the Bermuda DiabetesAssociation continues to focus on prevention, early detection, education and affordable access to care.

In 2025, the Association screened 423 individuals through its community health initiatives, helping to identify risk factors and support earlier intervention for diabetes and related complications.Pictured at the cheque presentation were Zach Moniz, Manager at Lindo’s; LoriRockhead, Executive Director of the Bermuda Diabetes Association; Lucy Monkman,Office Manager at Sompo; and Dante Leverock, Wellness Coordinator at Allshores.

Zach Moniz, Manager at Lindo’s, said: “More than a quarter of a century and hundreds of thousands of dollars later, we’re so pleased to see that this event still brings out the best in our community. We’re proud to have raised almost $28,000 this year for the BermudaDiabetes Association and we look forward to continuing to support their mission of reducing the prevalence of diabetes and improving the lives of all people affected by the condition.”

Lori Rockhead, Executive Director of the Bermuda Diabetes Association, shared: "Each year, Lindo's to Lindo's plays a vital role in helping us serve the community. The funds raised directly support our free health screenings, educational programmes and outreach initiatives, enabling us to improve access to care and empower more people to take charge of their health. We are incredibly grateful to Lindo's, MAAC and all of our sponsors and participants for making this event possible.”Organised by the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Club (MAAC) and sanctioned by the Bermuda National Athletics Association, the Lindo’s-to-Lindo’s event is also supported by BGA,Bermuda Import & Export Co., Butterfield & Vallis, Europa Imports, Island HealthServices, Barritt’s, Warwick Academy, Sompo and Allshores.
