Philip Woollins and Stepanka Sprincova claimed dominant victories as a stacked field took to the scenic coastal roads for the annual Race for Memories 5K in St George's.
Under pristine conditions on the historic eastern end, Woollins set a blistering tempo from the gun to secure the overall and men's titles, crossing the line in an impressive 19 minutes and 15 seconds.
The battle for the remaining podium spots was a fiercely contested affair. Jonah Faria pushed hard on the technical coastal straights to secure second place in 19:41, closely followed by John Carreiro, who rounded out the top three just nine seconds later in 19:50.
In the women's field, Sprincova produced a stunning, clinical performance, finishing fourth overall out of the entire field. She effortlessly clinched the women's crown with a stellar time of 19:54—the only female athlete to break the 20-minute barrier on the day.
Bradie Hogg secured a brilliant second place in the women's division, stopping the clock at 21:06 to finish seventh overall, while Melissa Logie produced a strong run of 21:54 to claim the final spot on the podium.
