Bermuda Ladies Crowned Champions in Curaçao

IslandStats.com
Bermuda have been crowned the 46th Annual Kitty Michaels Ladies Invitational Gross Division champions after a dominant final-day performance in Curaçao.

The Bermudian squad displayed remarkable consistency across three gruelling rounds to finish with a combined score of 109-over par. The margin of victory underlined their dominance, finishing nine strokes clear of their nearest challengers, Southwest Florida, who ended the tournament at 118-over par.

While the team celebrated Gross Division glory, they narrowly missed out on a historic double. Bermuda finished as runners-up in the Net Division with a score of 29-over par—just three strokes adrift of the host nation and winners, Curaçao.

Captain Tracy Burgess cemented her status as the tournament's standout performer by claiming the Gross Division Individual Championship. Entering the final round with a significant cushion, Burgess signed for a composed seven-over par 79 to finish the week at 21-over par overall.

Her final card featured two birdies and nine pars, providing the steady foundation needed to hold off the chasing pack. Burgess also added the "Longest Drive" title from Day 2 to her impressive haul of silverware.

The victory was built on depth, with several Bermudian players delivering crucial scores under pressure:

Ann Symonds: Secured 11th place overall at 53-over par after a final-round 86.

Maria Harris: Finished 12th in the Gross standings (54-over par) and secured a brilliant second place in the Net Division (9-over par).

Leslie Wollmann: Claimed sixth place in the Net Division following a consistent final-round 76.

The squad's collective excellence was further highlighted by a string of individual accolades, including "Closest to the Pin" for Jomari Vosloo and "Longest Drive" honours for Angela Cook on the final day.

The victorious squad—comprising Burgess, Tracy Nash, Katyna Rabain, Angela Cook, Jomari Vosloo, Valerie Nearon, Lesley Wollmann, Katrin Burnie, Maria Harris, and Ann Symonds—will now turn their attention to defending their title on home soil.

Bermuda has been confirmed as the host for the 47th Annual Kitty Michaels Ladies Invitational, scheduled to take place in April 2027. Following their exploits in the Caribbean, the champions will undoubtedly be the team to beat when the tournament arrives on the island next spring.
