Bermuda Teams Eye New Orleans After St. Pete Success

IslandStats.com
The high-octane world of offshore racing shifts its focus to the Bayou this weekend as the IHRA New Orleans Powerboat Grand Prix prepares to host the elite of the sport.

Confidence is sky-high within the Bermudian camp following a flawless display at the season opener in St. Petersburg. The S-25 Team Bermuda crew of David Selley and Steven Bridges delivered a masterclass in Florida, locking in pole position before storming to a commanding victory in the Super Stock class.

Selley and Bridges were pictured hoisting the checkered flag in St. Pete, a visual testament to a team currently operating at the peak of its powers. They head into the Louisiana waters carrying significant momentum, though the IHRA schedule promises a grueling test against a field of teams all desperate to halt the Bermudian charge.

However, the S-25 isn't the only boat carrying the island’s hopes into the Grand Prix. The S-12 Nuff Said, powered by the duo of Luis Martins and Nick Imprescia, will be looking to mount a podium challenge of their own. After a gritty performance saw them secure a fourth-place finish in the opening round, the crew has spent the intervening weeks refining their setup as they aim to break into the top three.

With a jam-packed schedule of nonstop, high-octane action across both offshore and PWC racing categories, New Orleans is set to be a definitive battleground for the season's early pacesetters. For Team Bermuda, the goal remains singular: to keep the checkered flag firmly in Bermudian hands.
