Bermudian athlete Domico Watson took to the world stage, competing at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Florida.
Amidst a backdrop of elite international distance runners at the Apalachee Regional Park, Watson represented the island in the 2k mass participation event, crossing the finish line in a solid time of 7:42.
The event served as a high-octane curtain-raiser for the main championship races, which saw world-class dominance from East African powerhouses. Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo secured a historic third consecutive senior men's title, while Kenya's Agnes Ngetich claimed her first individual global crown in the women’s 10k.
Watson’s appearance in Tallahassee continues a dedicated run of form for the 33-year-old, who has successfully transitioned from a talented tennis player to one of Bermuda’s most consistent long-distance representatives.
