The Butterfield Mile Trials 2025 delivered exciting racing and tight finishes at the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Center, with competitors battling for fractions of a second across multiple divisions.
The most gripping finishes of the day came in the male divisions, where two podium spots were decided by milliseconds.
In the Men's 18 & Over category, David Lunn secured the top spot with a time of 4:55. However, the battle for second place was a photo finish, with Numair Khan and Philip Woollins both clocking an identical time of 5:03. Khan was officially awarded second, with Woollins finishing third.
A similarly dramatic outcome occurred in the Boy's 14 - 17 Age Group Division. Where, the top two places could not be separated on the clock, with both Sanchez Smith and Dylan Eiselt finishing with an identical time of 4:41. Smith was narrowly given first place ahead of Eiselt, who took second. Cameron Adkins secured third place in the division with a time of 4:47.
The women's races saw slightly more decisive victories for the top spots.
In the Women's 18 & Over race, Carina Bortoli took a clear victory with a time of 6:25. She was followed by Catherine Power in second (6:39) and Ashley Thompson in third (6:59).
The Women's 14 - 17 Age Group Division was dominated by Riana Robinson, who finished first with a time of 5:26. Brooklyn Myers placed second (5:45), and Jaeda Grant took third (5:59).
