Dennis Mbelenzi stormed to victory in the 2025 AXA XL Man on the Run 5K, leading a field of nearly 200 male runners who took to the course to help raise vital funds for local Men’s Health Initiatives.
The popular event successfully raised 100% of its proceeds to support crucial free men’s health education programmes and the Equal Access Funds, which provide financial subsidisation for early detection and radiation therapy treatments.
Mbelenzi delivered a commanding performance to secure the win, crossing the finish line in a swift time of 16 minutes, 42 seconds (16:42).
The battle for the minor podium spots was tight, with Sanchez Smith securing second place with a time of 17:29. Dylan Eiselt rounded out the podium, clocking 18:32 for third place.
Interestingly, Spencer Haldeman finished fourth overall despite posting a faster time of 15:56, indicating he was running in a non-competitive or later wave category.
The top ten runners demonstrated great commitment to the cause and the distance:
Miles Smith secured fifth place in 19:05. Philip Woollins finished sixth with a time of 19:23. Craig Munden was the seventh runner home, clocking 19:26. Ben Adolph followed closely in eighth place with 19:29. Nazir Johnson took ninth place in 19:49. Will Green completed the top ten, crossing the line in 19:53.
The event was a massive success, combining competitive running with a powerful charitable purpose to benefit men’s health across the island.
