Tajer Basden and his Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) Men’s Cross Country teammates secured a fourth-place finish at the Livingstone Invitational.
The JCSU Golden Bulls finished behind host Livingstone, Winston-Salem State, and Guilford, recording a total team time of 2 hours, 54 minutes, and 46 seconds (2:54:46), averaging 34:57 per runner over the 8K course.
Host Livingstone College claimed the men's team title with a score of 28, led by Brandon Jeffers' second-place finish in 26:02.
Sophomore Elijah Housley led the charge for JCSU, finishing 10th overall with a time of 29:55.6.
Bermudian runner Tajer Basden was the third JCSU scorer to cross the line, finishing 21st overall with a time of 35:24.9.
Basden's scoring run proved vital for the team's top-four finish, rounding out the key scorers alongside Christopher Coltrane-Gaston (33:45.6), Vegas Newport (35:30.1), and Alexander Knight (40:10.5).
