Mercersburg Academy's cross country team saw a solid performance at the highly competitive Gettysburg Cross Country Invitational 2025, held and hosted by Gettysburg Area High School in Pennsylvania.
The event featured a strong field of high school runners, with Mercersburg finishing a respectable 16th overall in the Men's competition.
The standout performance for the school came from Joseph Cechini, who led the charge for the Mercersburg 'Blue Storm' squad.
Competing in the Men’s 5K race, Cechini navigated the challenging course to cross the line in 81st place with a time of 17 minutes, 47.11 seconds (17:47.11). His result was key to his team’s overall standing against nearly 30 schools.
The Mercersburg Academy Men’s team collectively finished 16th out of the 29 schools competing in the event, marking a promising performance as they continue their 2025 season.
