Runner Gabriella Cechini continued her excellent start to the cross country season, representing Mercersburg Academy at the prestigious Paul Short Run Presented by ASICS at Lehigh University.
Competing in the Girls Brown 5K Race, Cechini delivered another strong performance, crossing the line in sixth place with a time of 18 minutes and 52 seconds. Her sub-19-minute effort placed her among the top competitors in a huge field at the regional event.
Cechini’s efforts helped the Mercersburg Academy Girls team secure a respectable 10th place finish overall in the team standings.
The Paul Short Run is one of the largest and most competitive cross country events in the US Northeast, making Cechini's top-ten individual finish a significant achievement and a further sign of her progress this season. The Bermudian runner will now look to build on this form as she moves deeper into the fall season schedule.
