Bermudian athlete Liana De Medeiros played a key role in the University of Toronto Varsity Blues Women's Cross Country team's sixth-place finish at the Vigars & Slater Western Invitational in London, Ontario.
Competing in the Women's 8km race, the Varsity Blues team secured sixth place overall out of 11 competing universities. The strong showing was a testament to the team's depth, with all five of their top runners finishing within the top 50.
De Medeiros was one of those crucial performers for Toronto. She crossed the finish line in 27th place, clocking a time of 31:22. Her performance was one of the top five for her team, helping the Varsity Blues to a respectable finish in a competitive field.
