Runner Cam Adkins has started his cross-country season with a powerful performance, clocking a personal best at the 2025 Hare and Hounds X-Country Invitational in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Adkins, who has returned to Bermuda for the IB programme but is still training under his coach, Randy Ashley, competed in the Boys Championship Division. He crossed the line in 40th place overall with an impressive time of 16:15.10. This marked a new personal best for the 5000m distance, improving his previous best by more than 20 seconds.
The event, hosted by Metrolina Christian Academy, featured a highly competitive field, and Adkins's strong showing is a promising sign for his season ahead. His ability to produce a personal best so early in the season suggests that his training has been effective and that he is on track for a successful campaign.
